The Flip

Purpose

This format opens with a commonly held assumption stated confidently as fact, then spends the rest of the carousel recontextualizing it. The opening slide invites the reader to nod along. The second slide breaks that agreement. The rest provides the substance and implication. It works whenever the story is more interesting or significant than it first appears.

Structure

  • The carousel opens with a common assumption stated as fact, with no framing.

  • The second slide directly counters or reframes the assumption.

  • Two slides provide the supporting substance and the bigger-picture implication.

  • The carousel closes with a call to action.

Best used when

  • The news challenges expectations or is more significant than it appears

  • The source content has a natural contrast between perception and reality

  • The goal is engagement and debate on LinkedIn
