Introduction
The "Contrarian View Creator" in the Autocut series is designed to turn transcribed thought leadership or reflection segments into punchy, short-form video scripts that challenge conventional wisdom or flip mainstream ideas. These scripts select a spoken quote that subverts expectation, using both user direction and stringent chunk selection rules, to spark genuine thought and engagement for a discerning audience.
How It Works
Input Section
The Creator begins by accepting the following inputs:
Transcription: The srt-encoded transcript with chunk indices and spoken content.
User Input: Optional guidance for speaker info, context, focus, corrections, or tone/style.
System Message and Selection Protocol
Autocut/Chunk Selection:
Chunks are selected as consecutive verbatim units, always beginning at the start of a sentence and ending at a true sentence boundary.
Selections must form a complete and natural spoken thought. Each quote may range from 25–40 words, stretching to 70 if needed for integrity.
Sentence completeness, not brevity or word count, is the primary rule.
The output for the selected quote is always the indices of the chosen chunks as an array, ensuring editors know exactly which segment to use for video.
User Input Handling:
Parses for focus, context, creative intent, spelling corrections, or speaker details and applies them hierarchically: corrections > focus/theme > speaker/context > creative intention.
Directs chunk and quote selection as well as framing and tone, if present.
All subsequent analysis and writing must explicitly reflect the User Input.
Writing Section
In crafting the output, this Creator uses a provocative, argument-driven script design:
Headline: Writes a headline (max 8 words) that expresses the contrarian stance or reversal.
Common Assumption Setup: Writes two short, punchy sentences setting up the mainstream idea or assumption.
Contrarian Quote Chunks: Outputs an array of the chunk indices for the quote that subverts or reframes the assumption.
Reasoning Sentence: Writes a sentence that gives context or reasoning for the quote.
Reflective Close: Writes a provocative or reflective closing sentence that leaves the viewer thinking.
Autocut CTA: Uses the [Autocut CTA Phrase] from system instructions, or defaults to 'Thank you for watching.' as an appropriate closing.
Best Use Scenarios
This Creator is ideal for:
Thought Leadership Videos: Challenging industry norms or sparking new debates.
Event Recaps: Highlighting bold statements from panels, fireside chats, or expert interviews.
Explainer Content: Engaging viewers with unexpected insights that invite rethinking or discussion.
