How do I use Talking Heads (Transcribe and Edit)?

The Talking Heads (Transcribe and Edit) function is the perfect tool for you. Reuse video material from events, interviews, internal communication, or other "talking heads" material you have.

There are two ways to start

Hover between the slides and click on the "Insert Talking Head" button

How to use Talking Heads

1. Click on Insert Talking Heads.

2. "Drag and drop" or "browse" to add your video asset. Read here about what file types that can be uploaded.

3. Click next.

4. Your video will be transcribed and the tool will open up when finished. (Maximum audio file size is 25MB).

5. Check your text and correct the text if needed.

6. Choose what parts of the video you want to use by clicking either on the "Add all" button,

or on the "Add" button on a specific subtitle (the button will be visible when hovering over the lines).

7. You can remove them in the same way, click on "Remove", the button will be visible when hovering over the lines.

8. The audio can't be adjusted in a Talking Head. If the audio is too high or too low, you need to fix it outside of Storykit.

Translate Subtitles

Start translating your subtitles by clicking on the "Edit subtitles" Button.

1. Click on the "Translate" button in the top right corner of the field for subtitles.

2. Choose the source language and to what language you want to translate it into.

3. Click on the "Translate" button.

4. Done!

Edit Subtitles

Start editing your subtitles by clicking on the "Edit subtitles" Button.

Add a Name & Title.

While editing your subtitles, you can style them as well. You will find the settings on the right of the view. You can take a look at all subtitle styles here.

Preview clips and subtitles

You can preview your clips by clicking on the play button on the subtitle field.

Or by clicking on the three dots in the preview of the subtitles (hover over the subtitle and it will show) click on Edit and then the play button.

Edit clips

You can edit the clip duration to make a cleaner cut of the clip. Use the "Offset" function to either add or remove time at the beginning or the end of the clip (if there's no time cut-off, adding time won't work).

Change the order of the clips by using the arrows (Move up and Move down).

Add B-rolls by clicking on the B-roll Icon next to the subtitles.

If you want the B-roll to play over several clips, you click on the arrows (Extend) and if you want to shorten it again, you click on the arrow (Shorten).

Use several Talking Heads

If you want regular slides, (for example questions) between your video clips, you can add as many content blocks as you wish. If you want to use different parts of the video clip you "add" different parts of the transcription text in different content blocks. You only have to upload the video clip once.

Use your transcription text in the AI script creators

If you want some help with the video you can use your transcription in one of the Transcription Helpers. The creator will create a story for you. You can read more here about how to do it.
